Lucas Octane Booster

Has anyone tried it? Does it work? How does it run in a tuned vehicle? Which tuner? More power? Better mileage?

most octane boosters only give u .2-.3 points octane not really enough to make a difference ur better off buying a gallon of xylene and pouring in ur tank and get 1-2 points out of it

Most octane boosters:

1. don't work - as indicated, increases are only in fractions of a percent
2. contaminate O2's - a real bad thing

In a pinch - you can try Torco, the only one that works as advertised and is safe.

But - if you have an issue that requires a bump in octane, get the root cause fixed. Don't rely on a "remedy in a bottle".

Some folks here use Torco when @ the strip as a safety measure to ensure any potential detonation ( usually under boost) isn't gonna grenade the engine...

It's cheaper, safer, and more effective to use higher octane fuel to begin with - if you have a need for higher octane.

Quality of Gas

Keep on mind the quality of the gas you are using and its additives, including ethanol in that they may actually diminish the proposed increases in octane points these products advertise. Additionally, I believe the rule is in order to achieve MAXIMUM yield from higher ocatane, you need a higher compression ratio.

I'd rather pour it in my glass and mix it with some Bailey's

I run that stuff in my car all of the time. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes but it gives me more piece of mind whenever I get into boost..
