troublesome coils??

when i drive my truck, it seem ok until i slow to a stop and when i come to a stop it sounds like its about to stall and sometimes does. when its idleing it sounds like it misses. i took it to autozone and they said i need new o2 sensors so i bought them they never said anything about coils. it runs a little better but not much. i turned my truck on and started unplugging the coil wires and i found some of them had no effect on the idle. my plugs are new, i just replaced them. i think they are the coils, if they are should i replace all 8? what do they run $$$??? could water make them go bad, cause the roads have been under water and i get my engine pretty wet.

What was the basis of the OX sensor advice?
What were the codes read?
Is there a check engine lamp?
You have to use these first, if present, before guessing.
Missing could be fuel filter, plugs, coils, injectors, water in the fuel....take your pick.
You already spent upward of $85 on parts that don't normally cause a miss and rough running if defective..

If your unplugging has no effect, than I'd call that spade a spade!!! I myself would replace all 8 and be done with it. Seems like there is a COP sickness going around lately. I'd be looking on ebay or somewhere other than the dealer for coils because ya, they can be costly and aftermarket ones are 50/50 from what I've seen. Also, anytime I've seen O2's go or are going will give a check engine light, when the coils did, no code or light. The coil thing happened just like that, I attribute it to going through a huge puddle hours earlier.
