Cam phasers

Does anybody know what it costs to have cam phasers replaced to eliminate ticking noise on a 5.4L F-150 2004 model?

Thanks

I had mine done under warranty, it didn't take them long to do it...maybe 2 hours so I can't see it being TOO expensive. I take it the truck is out of warranty?

Yes it is out of warranty but I could get an extended warranty for $1400 but if was going to cost just a couple of hundred then I wasn't going to get it

I just wanted to point out, you refer to a ticking noise, and the fuel injectors make a constant ticking noise at idle. This is normal. The cam phaser noise is more of a knock, it's louder and is generally on one side, most often the passenger side of the engine.

Have you done a search on the subject? Should be a lot of info on here. Pay particular attention to anything posted by Quintin, as he is a Ford tech and has done the job.

Before I had mine done, it sounded like a diesel at idle.
