PCM Problems???? Continued!!!!!!
PCM Problems???? Continued!!!!!!
Hey Guys,
Ok I did write down the trouble codes off the scanner before I erased it. Here are the codes:
P0606 PCM processor Fault
P2104 Tac System Forced Idle
P2110 Tac System Forced Limited RPM
When I try to crank it, nothing. I do hear the relay click in the fuse box but thats it. I bought a used PCM from Ebay. Worst case scenerio would Ford be able to flash the used one even though its not the same numbers as the original? Came from same year and engine size.
2004 F150 FX4 5.4L
Thanks!

You coulda just bumped your original thread up instead of making a new one, it'd helped to keep all the information together in one batch.
Anyways, P0606 is a keep alive memory fault, you need to check all the fuses that protect the PCM, check your owners manual for info. P2104 and P2110 are electronic throttle control codes, most likely caused by a faulty TPS.
Reinstall your original PCM and start checking all your fuses.

At this point, your only option is towing your truck to a Ford dealer so the PCM can be programmed. Hopefully you've got the right replacement PCM as well.
Different part numbers on the pcm may not matter. Could be one pcm was made earlier than the other and part numbers changed.. Not out of the ordinary.
Yes, the dealer will be able to program the new pcm, they just have to do it manually. They can obtain the as-built data through oasis.
Not that it matters now, but does your truck have less than 80k miles?

Yeah, he's going to be real thrilled to find out the PCM WAS covered by an 8/80 emissions warranty, but he kind of screwed that up...
...he'll be even less thrilled when the original problem(s) are still there....
