Question Truck Won't Crank, Please Help I've tried everything!

==============UPDATED SUMMARY IN POST #36 PLEASE READ==================

Alright, I need all your help. Seeing how I don't have the available money to take my truck to a machanic.

Well this is how it goes. The truck was parked in the Driveway everything was good, and than I tried to start it and it tried to crank and than stopped. And now it won't even "try" to crank.

Meaning; You turn the key it is silent. All Accessories do not work, Wind shield wipers/radio/etc. Only things that work are the lights.

Its odd, the Radio doesn't work and it doesn't attempt to crank. Complete scilence.

==============UPDATED SUMMARY IN POST #36 PLEASE READ==================

I have Replaced the Starter. And the (what is the part that functions like a solenoid but isn't one, It is under the hood, on the fire wall.) Well I replaced that as well.

I am lost on why it isn't working.

It is a 1991 Ford F250, the engine is a 351.

Please help me, thanks alot

Could use some more info but if I were a betting man I would lay a hundred on your battery being the problem.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I have cleaned the battery terminals and such. How could the battery be the problem if power is being gived to the lights and such, and Yes I have tried to jump it, and no luck. Any other suggestions.

It is a 1991 ford f250 351.

When you turn the key to crank the engine nothing happens. Lights and everything work. Only things that dont work are the radio, and the car.

Any other suggestions?

hi
i had a90 f250 that did the excact same thing!
in the stering column there is a metal rod thatmoves as you turn the key
to activate starter.its on top this rod broke and without that rod hitting the switch in the column you will have power but it will not turn over if all else has failed check that

If you are absolutly possitive the battery is in good shape then go for the ignition.
I had several batts go bad, giving power to the lights is in no way a good indication of a proper working battery.
Do you have a fluke meter?

I have a question though about this, When you turn the key in position to start and let go the key "springs" back. If the rod was broke would the key still spring back?

Any other suggestions wanted please.

UPDATE:

The Ignition Switch was replaced, and the rod going to it was checked and is in working condition.

The battery was directly wired to another battery and nothing changed.

Does anyone else here have any suggestions/ideas on why the truck isnt starting.

Please Leave them.

All Accesories won't work. Radio, Wipers, Etc.

Truck will not crank, or make any noise.

What would cause all these things to go down at once.

-------------

Only things that work are Headlights, Break lights, Buzz when you insert your keys.
