Oil filter comparison
I found this site to be pretty informative. If nothing else, it makes a good read if you're bored...

Good site I guess - Who's ever doing it needs to get into it more . There holding back. One thing that sticks out is that they haven't mentioned or talked about the anti-drainback valve.
That should be explained.
That should be explained.

The information in this "test" is old, real old in the filtration market. I highly doubt any of the filters represented are made of the same materials anymore. In your search for the "Best" oil filter you need to know that any filter is a compromise. You can either have more flow or better filtration- you can't have both. The best out there for reasonable flow and great filtration is the newer Amsoil Ea filter. Only one problem with it- it's too expensive for the value received. There are engines out there that have seen nothing but the orange grenade and doing fine at 300,000 miles. With todays oils, cleaner burning fuels, lean burn technology, there isn't a lot for the filter to do liike there was ten years ago. The best value would be the Purolator brand or Purolator clone. Actually, the most important thing you need to look for is the anti-drain back valve.
