With good care and regular maintenance.. Big picture... I would say indefinitely.. However something will always wear out or break..

Since it sounds like you are specifically referring to the engine, I will say, assuming regular maintenance, no real abuse, and just a tiny bit of good luck, 300,000 miles or more.

Between 200k-300k plenty of Ford 4.6's and 5.4's running around here with over 100k without a problem. My painter has a 2001 with the 4.6 and almost 250k on his with just oil changes.

Ya i think the big decider would be how well it is maintained and treated. If your taking it to the drag strip every weekend then its probaby not going to last, but if you take care of it and dont beat the crap out of it it should last a long time.

The body will fall apart before a well maintained motor will terminate.

The design life of the new 5.4 is 150,000 miles. Providng there are no catastrophic failures, recommended maintenance has been performed, and the driver doesn't drive it like he stole it, it should last near twice that.

I agree, anyone with a little common sense should be able to get around 200,000 miles out of it.
