Yeah , I'm curious as to what it is that usually gets missed when rebuilding these Modulars . Are the tolerances just that tight and unforgiving.
I haven't heard of any success stories in the this forum - not that I can think of. I know Jasper even screwed a few up - I read that they wasted two in a row before getting it right with one of these
Hell it would take me a year to rebuild one myself - I would be so freakin paranoid, I missed something. The problems Neal had his builder - The guy had to be somewhat reputable for Neal to give him a shot at it .
Then you here of people trying to do it with Mr Haynes help - or Misses Chiltons and totally F it up somehow and haven't a clue.
Is there anyone but Ford really good at this?
I think I 'de rather find me a old Model A to revamp - I should be safe there..
Anyway guy - Go here - http://car-part.com/ Find a used motor w/decent miles close to home by typing in your Zip. That's what they do .
