Ok i just ordered the motoblue cop's and picked up 3L of royal purple 75w90 for the rear diff.
My next question is if anyone has any info on how to remove the fan and shroud. Im looking at picking up a Derale twin electric fan kit from summit racing and was curious how i go about removing the factory fan and shroud.

Wrong weight - the rear requires 75W140. If you have a 4x4, you can use that 75W90 in the front.

I just double checked the owners manual and it says 75W90 for both the front and rear. I just have to pick up a bottle of friction modifier before i do it. Some notes on my progress. The coils are ordered, i opted for the motoblue coils and the regular wires that come with them. When they come in im booking an apt for the dealer to put in new plugs and do the coils at the same time. I cleaned the mass air and throttle body. Put on my electric fans, just need to find which wire to run the a/c lead from the controller to. Changed the fuel filter, and finally put on my AS 2" leveling kit. Heres some pics of the fan and the leveling kit. Im also getting some piaa fogs to go with the brush guard friday.

I have to say that with the electric fans it will making oil changes or having to replace the belt alot easier. It was a busy day today.

Can you take a picture of where it says that in the manual please - I have to see this . My first thought is that , well , maybe the 04 rear end is built different warranting the change . I couldn't find and info saying theres been a change - I looked everywhere .

What really doesn't make sense is that your adding Modifier to 75 /90 .

Do you have LS? - What does it say inside the drivers door on the tag , towards the bottom, ii-fact it should be the bottom row for the axle code..

But yeah , post a pick of where its ays to use 75w 90w in the rear axle - from the manual , where you seen it .

Thanx.

The door code is B6 if i remember correctly, im assuming its the LS cause when i do break stands it pretty much always lights up both tires. And here is a pic of the page in my owners manual. I dont know if it makes any difference but i crawled under the truck and the tags on the diff say it is the 9.75" rear.

Thanks for posting that

Man the made allot changes that year - even though a few don't make sense to me - They must have re-engineered the entire third member and axle shafts . They finally started using aluminum drive shafts I see.

Thanks Again ..

BTW- You do have Limited slipp in that one - Your also running 3.73's..

At first you were making me think i read it wrong but i was sure thats what i saw. I knew it was the LS before but i didnt know exactly what gears although thats kinda what i figured. Now i just need to try and figure out a few more things to get some power out of the truck after the coils and plugs get done. Im thinking about looking into ditching the K&N intake for one of the AEM brute force intakes. It looks alot meaner than the one ive got which seems to have a pretty small tube.
