Unless your swapping in a 5four , then its 99 - 03 if you want a PI motor , I mean why not - they fit and there not more than 100lbs more.

Dude , you run a 5four from the line - Your 4six is 4 truck lengths back in about 3 seconds lol , who's trying to brainwash you? The 5.4L makes the torque down low . Holy hell , mine or they launch from the line without spinning a tire if you do it right and then again when get it up to 3600 rpm's it takes off again. During this time your still in the rear view mirror.

The 4six makes all its power up high.

Both motors 97 -03 - stock against stock or mod for mod, The 4six can't compete - it doesn't have the nads or the stump pulling torque that gets yuh out of the hole..

Even though the trucks weren't made to race, that's what will happen from the line.

Certain people have modded the 4six and can beat a STOCK 5four , but that's the only way it can be done..

Why do you think they use the 5four in the lightnings - because there slower?

I already gave you the heads link. It has the different part numbers on the rebuild 4six page.

Twintips,

You honestly think the 4six is quicker than the 5four ?

With the mods you have now, a stock 5four would leave you in the dust..

R u talking to me....

Yeah i know. Thats why i want to do something about it. With all the trouble im having i might just resort to droping a 5.4 in.

When i bouaght my truck all my famly grew up driving sticks and i always was told there better. So when i had the chance i got one. BUT then i start reading and i found the flaw. If you read one of my posts to you in the other forum i said that i havebeen watching the 1/4 mile times for the 5.4 and it makes my 0-60 time look like im fat and dont know where the gas is. I hate that. I dont want to give her up but she needs more to her.

What i ment by that was that if i went the route of putting a 5.4 in it wouldn't happen over night. Not with my skill. Im not greenhorn but i sure as H@ll not that good. I would love to put on in but it would be more expensive and time consuming.

In the long run it would be better. If my tranny held up.
