just want to say thanks

I didn't mean to be a **** to quintin. I'm a fire LT with the FDNY in new york city. I was in the fire house while writeing this topic as we were running our asses of all day. I'm not the best computer guy thats why i became a fireman. I didn't realize my caps were on.... while writing my problem we had 8 runs with in 1 hour....so again I'm sorry for the caps...... I did find my problem and how to solve it.... I ended up purchasing a bore scope and that tool from Rotunda/OTC. It just really pisses me off, this is my second F 150 I have a 2000 and now this 04 I love the trucks. how come Nissan and Toyota don't have these problems. After this incident I'm ready to get rid of it....such a great truck should not have a such a garbage design flaw . I just want to say thanks to everyone that has commented on helping me out

Good job stepping up to the plate. I don't know Quintin, but I've seen his posts. He always has a good answer. Could be worse, in some of the '05's the injectors would stick open. There are stories on here about bent rods because of it. All of these trucks have issues. At least the newer ones aren't blowing the plugs out anymore. Look around a Toyota page. There's issues with the transmission and to some extent camshaft breakage. ALL of the new vehicles are complicated machines, they will have problems. The TSB is due to carbon buildup. If you install nickel anti-seize on the new plugs you should be good to go. FWIW - here's the entire TSB:

urrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks for the help TNC. I purchased the Tool to maybe remove the remainder of the plugs out from ROTUNDA along with a boar scope. Hopefully this will solve my problems.... But over all this should not have happened to a truck with 37,000 miles just to change out plugs.... I sent in a nasty complaint to consumer affairs regarding this problem and there happened to be numerous complaints from the navigators, expeditions, super duty's and f 150. Well I might end up sending my truck to Johnny Lightning to put aftermarket heads in If I have to pull my heads... again thank you .

What Ford needs to do on the front of every owners books is say go to F150 online before preforming any type of service beyond refueling

It's sort of like replacing your tires when it's time just to find out the rims are welded to the rearend now

So true - and like trying to change rotors only to find them rusted/stuck to the hubs

Yea me tooooooo. I think it was 2005 before I new what I had - by coming here . Right after I washed my motor , I washed it real freakin good too , so good that it didn't run no more I came here and searched and read and still doin it..I was working at Ford then , building there new parabolic test track in Dearborn Mich. I just run The heavy equipment , Graders, dozers programed thru GPS systems, lasor and robotic laser equipment - but that was a treat and allot of fun..

No , I never worked for them directly - Thru Heavy Highway sub-contractors -Excavating/Roadbuilding/Site Development , an Operating Engineer for 20 years - I finally got good at it after 10

Do allot for GM as-well, but Ford is a different world entirely.
