Talking AT LAST! finally ordered some cool stuff....

Don't really think anyone cares, but i'm happy, i finally ordered my troyer electric fans, motoblue 60k volt coils, and motoblue 0-ohm solid braid coil/plug conectors for my 06' 4.6L. I'm hoping to notice a good increase in power and throttle response considering the other mods i've already done.

what do you guys think?

(next steps- Meziere electric water pump, headers[if someone other than JBA ever makes a set], w/p, alt. and crank underdrives)

You'll have a huge Torque loose with those 40's - completely defeats the purpose unless you don't care about torque or how slow it is off the line now.

That the worst choice for mufflers right there - they eat up about 70% of the torque that motor can produce. There really bad..

If all you want is a loud droany sound , well, that's what you got

I am with jbrew!!!

Ditch those flowmasters (i used to have them)
Get rid of the Edge tuner for a custom tuner (also had that )

I would suggest a straight thru muffler (Magnaflow,Dynomax)
I would also go with the Troyer tuned Xcal2,i almost bet that you will see more gains from those swaps than you would imagine

Whatever you do - don't get those shorty headers

Longtubes , cause that's what she likes

Shorties net = 0 hp

Longtubes net = up to 30 hp (Kooks, Pacesetters)

Mufllers - Magnaflow, Borla, Bassani, Gibson are some good ones..

You get your tune yet Kev ?

They make long headers for the 4.6L?

If you have the edge, keep it. The geek factor alone IMO. Since you are installing the eFans, its nice to see a semi-accurate temp reading vs the 'OK' and 'PROBLEM' of the factory temp gauge. My factory temp doesn't move from ambient start up to 214. You can also use the edge for alerts for engine temp, tranny temps, RPMs as well as MPG thing similar to the ScanGauge.

I've also read the underdrive pulley are not a great bang-vs-buck bolt-on HP mod. There is just not any significant boost vs the cost. Also since you are using the eFans an underdrive on the charging and in lots of stop-n-go traffic, that may pull a big load if the charging system if it is running significantly slower.

how bout a glass pack type straight through? would something like that do the trick? the thing i like about the edge, is that i have a base model, i dont have nice things like a tach, or oil in my cluster, and the xcal is nice, but if i want to in-cab monitor that, i need to buy a dash-hawk, or individual gauges.

as far as the long tubes go... i would love that, but i cannot find any that list for the new body style, i know pacesetter makes a nice set, and their cheap to, but will they clear ok? and then i need to have some more custom piping made right?

Hey if you went with the xcal you can still use the edge for your gauges.you just can't program it when the other tuner is in

Oh and i suggest the 14inch long Magnaflow from here

also, stupid question, but it's been a while, is the factory exhaust 2 1/2 inch, or is it 2 3/4?
