Battery Light?

Hey fellas,

I was getting on the highway yesterday and had to accelerate pretty hard to merge w/ traffic. I matted it to the floor and noticed that at the top of first gear and the top of second gear, my battery light came on right before the tranny shifted ( 5200 rpm or so). This is the first time i have noticed it. Am i getting belt slippage on the alt.? I am Troyer tuned w/ a gatorback belt. Any help is appreciated.

Ed

Save up for an alternator. My '97 did the same thing intermittantly and within a short time ( maybe a week or two) it needed an alternator.

This is the standard indication of warn brushes. About $10 if you can find them. Look for a small recon shop and take the old ones with you. Takes an hour to replace as you have to remove the alternator for access. A good recon unit is a prefered way to go but replacing the brushes will keep you going for a very long time.
