Fuel mileage on '04-'07 4x4 Supercrew w/ 5.4L?
i have a 07 5.4
my truck is less then two months old and has 22,000 on it already.
i had a heart attact in march and had to stop pulling over size loads and i sold my 18 wheelers. and after a month of going nuts with nothing to do . i started escorting so i got a super crew with 5.5 foot bed and we run about 50mph while escorting and i get 19.2 to 19.9 for the most part i was shocked to say the least . now on the way home i run every bit of 70 to 75 when possable and still getting from 17.4 to 18.1. and thats stock but i just got a programer and when the warrenty runs out i'm going to play with that and i will post back here what it does.

I bought my 05 supercrew Lariat (27k miles) used so I have no clue about previous maint. but I am getting about 13.4 according to the onboard computer. I normally get about 400 miles a tank so really I am close to 14.8MPG but still alot lower than the rest of you. I changed the oil and the filthy air filter so I am hoping that will help me but I have 22" tires so I am thinking that is the main reason my gas stinks..
hope I can figure out how to get it closer to 16-17mpg .. if not oh well , I bought a truck not a honda

Mine is an 06 5.4 with 19k on it, it averages 14-15.5 mpg around town. I just got back from Myrtle Beach a few hours ago, first long trip ive taken with it. It averaged around 16.5-18mpg with cruise sat at 75 mph the whole way. Mine has the 3.55 gears, K&N cold air kit and Magnaflow 16612 single exhaust. Crew Cab as well.
My stock '05 FX4 SCrew (5.4L /3.73) got 13.5 city and 18 highway
My stock '07 FX4 SCrew (5.4L/3.73) gets 14 city and 19+ highway
Driving style does have a lot to do with your MPG. If you can draft a semi on the highway for any distance, you'll see a huge increase in MPG.

Made the run out of town the past couple of days. About 700 miles total, up and back. The highest the mpg got on the readout (and judging by the consumption it's accurate) was 15.0 mpg and that was about 5 miles from the house. Otherwise, 98% of the way it was running right at 14.8~14.9.
This is strictly interstate travel. All highway.

fuel milage
well my 05 screw 4x4 with 3:55 gears has gotten 13 at best in town and 16 on the highway since new. It just turned 50,000 yesterday. ford flashed my computer with some new code at 48,000 (last oil change) I had to pay 35.00 for the new flash but it gave the truck lots more low end torque and seemed to shift better running around town. did not help fuel milage, but was worth the 35.00 bucks. well i boughtt a hypertech programmer(4103) but with the new flash by ford it would not work, so I sent it back to Memphis Tn. they updated the programmer and sent it back to me( 4103-1 now) I installed it friday night. went on a 300 mile trip yesterday and wow i got 20.008 miles to the gallon. I thought maybe tank had an air pocket in it so didn't get to excited. on return trip i averaged 18.834. so whatever the new flash they did and adding the programmer really helped I dont do jackrabbit starts or race it (it is a truck that works like a truck not a sissy truck) so i am very happy with the added torque and fuel milage. I set programmer to add 100 rpm's to each shift point and stiffen shift firmness) the only other thing different was i had my undercover bed cover off on this trip, will put it back on today and will make the same trip friday. if milage changes for the worse I will get rid of bed cover. good luck everyone with your fuel milage
