Truck has no low end

I have a 98 F150 supercab 4x4 with the 5.4 with a k&n intake bbk throttle body dual exhaust and its got 187000 miles on it. I raced my buddies jeep cherokee with a 4.0 and a flowmaster and he busted my A$$ every time we raced. My truck does not have any low end and does not start to pull till around 3000 rpms. Any help would be greatful.

Don't feel alone. I installed a stage2 package from TP, and throttle body as well, and although the truck has an entirely different personality, and is vastly improved, it ain't nothin' to write home about from a standstill. Romp on it at 30 or 60, where it will dump down in a lower gear and the tach. swings up in the sweet zone, and you're off like a cheap prom dress. With my LS 355's, I don't have to worry too much about re-striping the highway. If you want some G's, buy a 'Vet.

Gears..

if you went with lower gears you would get the most bang vs other mods. That would give you the engines power range quicker.
