Hey fellas, relax. I worked at the plants that make these in Windsor and as far as I know, about 2001 (late) and newer, there was a mix in cranks. Usually not very many cast cranks were used, but in doing this it showed a different shipping label indicating this. An example and I think this was the actual is on the front cover it would say 612 on the label, a cast would be 622. I do want to say they used cast before that but I can't say 100%. It made complete sense as the casting plant was right next door to the engine plant. Show me a guy making 500-1000 hp's out of this engine and see if they didn't upgrade to a Bryant crank or similar, not to mention an aluminum block etc. At this stage it becomes almost completely an aftermarket engine anyways. I wouldn't want to try and push lots of hp's out of stock truck stuff, that was never the build intentions of it.

If i upgrade all of the internals of my 5.4L engine, could i bolt on a whipple f150 lightning supercharger?

you could do that without upgrading, but that would be a good idea.
