distbor installion
okay i getting my new motor ready to go back in my truck and i am trying to find the best way to do it seeing that the rotor points way from number 1 cylinder how do i know i am putting it in right then what to time it to. it is an 1987 ford f-150 with 302 efi. any insite would be appreciated
Probably the reason you're not getting many replies is that: stabbing a distributor is a basic procedure; something most mechanics learn LONG before they try to install an engine alone. Don't you have a shop manual? I highly recommend Haynes.

Another probable reason is that this site caters to '97-up trucks, and they don't have distributors. Check out FSB for pre-'97 FS Ford trucks.
One more possibility is that HORRIBLE spelling - that'll make people less likely to reply, too.
In a nutshell: you have to turn the crankshaft so the camshaft is at the #1 firing position, then stab the distributor to match. Then make sure you install the plug wires exactly as shown here:

Vinegar...
Everything I told you was true & polite. I didn't insult or tease you, and I provided a LOT of useful info. If you always respond to that with profanity, then it's no surprise you're having to fix your truck alone.
