DPFE Fix
Your right Klitch , there was - A rubber vac line plug was stuck in the IAC - I had thought I just didn't remove it and it was sucked in , now I don't know how it ended up there - It had to fly off anther fitting shooting into the IAC - what are the chances of that happening?
I opened the hood after getting a PO402 and found my EVAP line thats plugged into the top of the TB totally collapsed and sucked shut.
I started yanking the lines off the TB - got to the IAC line , pulled it off and there the damn thing was..
Nothing wrong with the DPFE - I had way to much flow going right to the EGR and holding the poppet valve open .
That plug has been partially blocking the IAC for some time , about a month . I had the IAC off about two weeks ago checking it out and didn't see the plug in there then..??
It must have fell in the IAC supply pipe is what I figure and kinda bounced around in the pipe - blocking the air flow here and there before it finally totally F'in plugged it up..
That was a fun one

I know it
You know that tube that runs to the IAC with that canister in between - It had to be stuck in there for awhile - I had that off - blew thru it w/compressed air 3 different times - because I still unsure just what the hell that little canister is .
Anyway , at one point I could push air thru IAC hose blowing thru one way - tried the opposite end and it blew thru no prob . So all along I'm thinking that thing must be some sort of check valve and really didn't think much about it..
Well , I don't think it is and that plug must have been lodged in that little canister deal for quite awhile - before it eventually ended up in the IAC.
FREAKIN THING!!.. I can't believe all the crap I went thru trying to figure out the prob and that's all it was.

lol see a statement like that has little relevance in trying to insult someone since everyone uses only 10% of their brain, while others used 15% at most. but people who are ambidextrious use about 20% because they can function both sides at once not alternating
i may be off on my percentages but every scientist says differently cause they still cant figure out the brain.
and the texas>michigan was to state we dont salt our roads so we dont have that rust problem you northernors do

For the first time in two years my damn CEL has stayed off for 300 miles.
I am very happy about that. As for the DPFE, I ended up getting the new one from the dealer a year ago after attempting t oclean it. I have 155k on the truck now, I just chalk it up to maintenance. It cost me $117 I think.
As for the yanks vs. the rednecks, I am a texan myself and I have ha the privledge of visiting many of the fine states in this great union. We all have our quirks, but we are blessed to live freen in a land where we can get in our truks and drive from one coast to the other frree as a bird.
