What is up with that?? I thought the 5.4 3v was rated at 300hp.

When you read the vin guide it shows that the 8th postion in the vin number is the engine code. Mine is 5. In the guide it shows 250-300 and has another setion with vin position 8 as to diffrent listings 250 and 300 for the 5.4 3v. Man talk about confused...............

Or is it 250hp when you run E85?

 

I just checked mine and it says:

Engine Type - 8th Position
VIN Code: 5
Engine: 5.4 L
Cylinders: 8
Fuel: Gasoline
Horsepower: 300 HORSEPOWER

 

whichever it is 250 or 300 its more like 190 and 230...sadly

 

Oh I know it is much less to the wheels, but it is werid how it has a 250 rating and 300 rating. I though all 5.4 3v were 300hp at the crank.

 

don't feel bad... I just checked mine and it says 154 hp......

 

5.4 3V = 300 hp
5.4 2V = 250 hp

Well it does say 3v triton on the airbox. So I guess no worries, but I e-mailed ford about this.

I didn't know they made a 2v 5.4 still.

 

Then tell me why when I put in my VIN for the decoding it says it is a 2007 150 super crew with the 5.4 ffv engine and 154 hp? Here is my VIN... check it out yourself.

I ran it thats crazier then mine, section 8 on the fleet decoder chart states 5 as a 5.4l 250 hp or a 5.4l 300 hp. that 154 not even on the list.
