Squeel from Serp Belt
Squeel from Serp Belt
I've noticed a squeel at WOT between 1-2 shifts from my serpentine belt (I assume). Is there any problem with this happening? Should I upgrade to a Gatorback belt? How tough is it to change out belts...any pics...Thanks in advance.
the belt is extremely easy to change, all you need to do is draw a quick diagram of the routing before you take it off, and them put the new one back on the same way. Either a Gator or a Daypro belt, and like someone already said, check your tensioner, may be time to replace it too

Factory belts can do this. They slip because of the fast engine speed changes at shift points. The gatorback has better "traction" and will almost certainly solve the problem. Cheap too..... then keep the stocker around for long trips as insurance, cuz if you lose the serpentine for some reason, you're pretty much d.o.a.
