noise

I have a noise that you only hear when the is on and in drive. It sounds like an air leak or ticking only when you accelerate. When you accelerate it gets louder. the dealership said the manifolds were okay and the bolts were okay any suggestions? It is very loud sounds like an air leak.

I have a 1998 F150 and the manifold bolts are notorious for breaking check the rear passenger side bolt. I have the same problem on mine. The Dealership told me it was the bolt, quite the expensive fix!
Good Luck!

Oh yea I have the same rattle! It sounds like a baby rattle when accelerating, it has done it from 150k to 190k. I have no clue but I guess I will start with checking that bolt.

No not the spark plug detonation the manifold bolts on the passenger side rear are faulty for some reason or another. I went to see what it would cost to get it fixed and the dealer told me 1500.00 to replace all the bolts on the one side (ABSOLUTLY NUTS!!) that is Canadian prices. CRAZY
