97 4.6L to 05+ 5.4L swap??

Has anyone done the NPI 2v to 3v engine swap? 3v truck motors seem to be going pretty cheap on ebay and wondered if it's worth the hassle. A gasser V10 from an F250 sounds fun too. Is this feasible with the stock accessories, mounts, etc?

I don't think that anyone has done it yet on a truck. You will need a PCM and GEM/fuse box and complete wire harness for the truck. That includes tranny, engine and body harness. You will need to convert your fuel system to a returnless one. You will need the engine speed controls, gas pedal with sensor as it is a drive by wire system. If I think of any thing else I will let you know. FWIW a 2V 5.4 can be made to produce some respectable numbers.

i think one the main irritations was the electronic TB, but i seen a while back a guy had replaced the TB with a BBK 75mm and was able to run cable throttle on a 04+ 3v 5.4.

anyone remember who that was? he had a post on it.

It'd be easier just to buy a truck with a 3V already in it. There's a ton of wiring and such to worry about. That said, there's a guy somewhere in the 2004-Present forum that put a 5.4 3V in a Mustang. If it'll go in a Mustang and work, there's no real reason why it couldn't work in an older F150 with enough time and money.
