A buddy of mine at work is looking at a 06 F150 XLT S-Crew with the 5.4. Did Ford ever fix the plug blow out problem with this engine ? Thanks

 

Yes, Ford fixed the spark plug blow out problem sometimes seen in the previous 5.4. The new 3 valve heads on the '04 -'05 trucks actually replaced it with the opposite problem. You couldn't get the plugs out. They fixed that with the late '05 models.

 

Everything I've read online concerning the plug blowout problem mentions 2003 and earlier years models. I haven't seen anything yet for 2004 and newer thankfully.
