The code indicates you have a exhaust leak on bank 2 [driver side].

P0157 is not an implemented code for 96-05 F-series vehicles.

Are you running some kind of tuner, etc?

...or did you, perhaps, transpose digits?

You have an O2 specific code, which is anything below the 170's -

Replace your upstream drivers side O2 - I had this one before on my 98

BTW - You can receive the info here -

Guys, that code is not even implemented in any Ford OBDII system I can find documentation for.

You may be wasting your time chasing a ghost......

I have it in the list Steve ? From that link I posted above

It's a lightning list , but I don't think that matters , does it?

P0145 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1, Sensor 3)
P0146 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1, Sensor 3)
P0147 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 3)
P0150 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0151 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0152 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0153 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0154 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0155 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0156 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
P0157 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
P0158 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
P0159 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
P0160 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
P0161 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)
P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)
P0172 System Too Rich (Bank 1)
P0173 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 2)
P0174 System Too Lean (Bank 2)
P0175 System Too Rich (Bank 2)

I think I know what your talking about tho . On the DVD - that code doesn't exist. I have PO152 and PO154. They only list the sensor 1 fault numbers on disc. Huh , idunno..

In the Autodata Tech manual it says: PO157- Possible cause - Exhaust leak, wiring short to ground ,HO2S, ECM. To find out what it is a diagnosis has to start somewhere. Listen for a exhaust leak, check the wiring to the O2 sensor, put the truck on a scanner that has mode6 and watch the O2 sensor switch back and forth along with its voltage readings.

I figure that if a code is not defined in ANY of Ford's documentation including their ODBII system documentation or in the PCED, it was not implemented by Ford.

The above "Lightning" list is of all POSSIBLE OBD-II codes that were defined when the "standard" was defined back in the early 90s and is not actually a list from any Lightning documentation. Just because a fault code was defined didn't obligate the manufacturer to implement it if they chose not to.

Again, what is the source that read this code? Tuners have been noted, especially, for producing erroneous or invalid fault codes.
