idling

everyone on here that is talking about this idle thing needs to face the facts. The Police Interceptor package does jack****!!! A cop car sitting there idling is terrible for it you are going to get more wear an tear on it idling than on the road. EX. heat is the biggest enemy when idling who cares if it has the police package cooling system unless it is a diesel, gasoline motors are not designed for prolong idling and it does put a TON of wear on the motor. So that motor with 68 grand on it is prob about at the end of its life cycle and there is no way i would take my factory motor out to put in a police motor??? i mean that is like taking a ****ty motor and replacing it with the perfectly fine triton motor which will do anything a "police interceptor motor" will do........

It will not be stock, it will have a whole lot more power with these PI heads. I can easily get 300 HP out of this motor with a good filter and some headers and some other goodies. I will update when we get the motor In. I have just stripped the intake off the PI motor and am going to Install the F150 intake soon, and other parts, replace a few seals and put her In and get a quick truck.

IF YOUR TRUCK INTAKE FITS, then you have PI heads on your trucks old engine, a NON-PI intake will not fit PI heads... remeber the car intakes' make more HP and the truck intakes' make more TQ due to the intended nature of the vehicles

a guy I know has a 4.6 with: e-fans, decent built tranny, long tubes, free flow exhaust, 30#injectors, ported intake, 75mm throttle body, FIPK, custom tune and he still isn't putting down 300hp

I (and I'm sure others as well) look forward to seeing your dyno results to back up your claims of over 300hp, good luck

HI!... Well after you get the engine installed, go get it dynoed. I think you will be surprised at the HP you "ACTUALLY" get................................

Not to mention it's set up as a fwd/awd design. The motor/transaxle sits sideways. Other than the "Intech" motor in the last generation Lincoln Continentals, which was an adaptation of the DOHC 4.6, the 4.6 has never been configured with a transaxle for sideways-mounted fwd.

With the 265HP 3.5 liter next year, it should be a considerably stronger runner than the too-small 3.0

Well, Kind of ran into a problem installing the f150 intake. The heads on the PI engine are bigger than the 97-03 f150s. So the intake for the f150's will not fit. So I'm gonna have to rig up the 02 Crown Vic Intake to work on the f150.

you may have issues with the oil pan as well, make sure you have the truck pan installed or ready to swap in case of clearance issues...

I hope you have no exhaust issues

We are going to swap the oil pan to. Exhaust manifold for f150 bolts right on. We are probally going to end up using the Crown Vic Intake and Throttle body and making that work. I just wish I could make that f150 intake fit.
