Newbie with a couple questions

Just took delivery of my '07 STX Flareside. Got a great deal as it had to be sold "used." True or not, dealer told me it was bought by a customer who ordered a Shelby Mustang. Looking at a several month wait, he bought this Bright Red standard cab/short bed Flareside and added 20" Rousch wheels & a MagnaFlow exhaust. As the story goes, the Mustang arrived sooner than expected and the dealer ended up with the truck, now with 2K mikes on it. I suspect they had trouble re-selling it as not many buyers want the small cab (my guess). True or not, it worked out well for me as it was just what I was looking for. Thus far I've lowered it, tinted the windows and have an ARE bed cover on order. Love it.

All that said, I've got a couple of questions...

1. Is it possible to get a copy of or at least the content of the original window sticker?

2. As I accelerate I get what sounds like a slight vacuum leak. It disappears as the RPMs hit 1500 or so. Cannot reproduce sound in Neutral or Park, only while accelerating off idle/low RPM. I've got the 4.6 V8.

Thanks. Look forward to using this site.

Tim

if you're talking about the origional build sheet you can get that from ford by calling customer service, if you're wondering about the origional dealers price I don't know how you would get that. welcome and good luck

Thanks. Will the build sheet contain the MSRP in addition to all factory-installed options?

not sure if they'd do that upon request, my build sheet just has equipment no prices, I'm not sure how you would find original msrp

Does the truck have a Intake or anything under the hood, or is it all original?

Everything is stock. Making the diagnosis difficult is that I can't replicate the hiss in neutral or park.

BTW, looks like I'll have a Build Sheet pretty quick. Made inquiry via email. Got a response (looking for a bit more personal info) within a couple of hours.

I would check all vacuum lines to make sure there are no breaks or loose connections. If everything is stock and you are hearing a hissing, it sounds like there is a leak of some sort. And you say that the sound is only at a certain RPM right?

I have a guess as a source of your hissing noise. On some Ford trucks, there's a air pressure booster that, as the name states, boosts the air pressure to help with braking and such. I've seen those leak and produce mysterious hissing noises that come at different times.

As far as MSRP goes, on Ford's website it still has the 07 F150 on there, so you could get a pretty good guess by going through it and building a truck like yours and see what price it comes up with. It's not the window sticker but you should be pretty close, especially if you get the build sheet for it.
