the way i see it, I can do much less harm to my engine by taking it apart and cleaning it than I can by running something through it. It might take longer, but it will get done the right way.

I don't even know what "seafoam" is, but from what I read it's not only a tb cleaner but ALSO something to suck into your power brake system? wtf? why?
sounds like snake-oil.. does it also re-grow hair? make your pecker bigger? is this something that Amway sells?
Why would anyone put crap like that into a perfectly good engine and / or brake system? what does it do for your brakes and why do they need cleaning?

What are y'all taking, smoking, drinking? and where can I get some?

All this hydrolock talk is a bit much I think. I have seafoamed probably 15-20 cars and have NEVER had a single problem. As some one else mentioned the dealership does the exact same thing for its "3 stage motor cleaner" service. They put some additive in the gas tank, run a cleaner through the brake booster then clean the throttle body/butterfly with a toothbrush and carb cleaner. Oh yeah and they charge ya about 100 bucks for what takes most mechanics all of 15 minutes. Sure you could screw this up as you could screw up about anything, but it doesnt mean seafoam is unsafe or snakle oil

chrysler use to make this expanding foam cleaner kinda like drano.. u would take a vacume line off spray this stuff in there and it expands to get into every intake runner and crevice. then u let it set for about 15 min and it will leave the intake manifold looking spotless. they dont make it anymore. and if they do i havent been able to find it
