I have a 1999 F150 5.4 with 105,000 it has a hesitation at low rpms and when I barely get on the gas. It is not showing any codes, I have only had the truck a couple months and don't want to take it to the dealer. I was thinking fuel filter or having the injectors cleaned. It is fine on the highway or when you get past 20 MPH. Any suggestions?

 

I had the same problem on my 2000. I did exactly what you stated above and it really helped. I changed the fuel filter then had the fuel system professionally cleaned out.

They hooked up to the fuel rail with some sort of cleaner and 15 minutes later, no more hesitation at low rpm's.
