determine cyl misfire cause ? 2001 5.4
call the COPS -- problem solved
as everyone pointed out the number one COP was determined "marginal" and was diagnosed and replaced by the dealership for the cost of $100... i would agree that for the same price and a couple hours of spinning a wrench i would have been better off doing it myself but it was being serviced for trans and radiator flush -- so all is good -- seems to run as it should --- now i will be looking for power upgrades
There was to many problems I gather - For some reason Kevin or who ever could not get the plugs right .
Just about every time a kit was sold (package deal $130) Global would ship out the wrong plugs
I have know idea why they couldn't get it right the first time .
They chose to eliminate the package deal..
Oh well, whatever - it still a killer deal

Well I nursed it per above for awhile, and then one fine rainy day the missing got bad and it it threw a code, CEL Check engine light came on! AMEN!
Went to Autozone, got them to plugged in their reader under the dash to diagnose, they looked it up and low and behold the obd readout finally told us what cylinder it was! Cylinder 7 Misfire!!!
Autozone had a single Coil on plug for about $50, an hour and a half labor and this ameteur replaced it
Problem solved!
