high idle

hello great forum. i have a 1994 f150 xlt longbed with a 302, 93000 miles on it. recently when i start it up, it does what it normally does and goes to 1000 rpms... 20 seconds later instead of going to 750 it ramps up to 1500rpms while the check engine light blinks 3 times. then after that it will drop down almost stalling, then ramp back up to smooth out to a normal 750. the check engine light does not stay on and the scanner hasn't revealed any codes. i'd appreciate any and all replies. i'm going to the garage to clean the maf sensor and take a look around the engine compartment. i've owned my truck for 12 years and am looking foward to owning it another 12 please help.

Try cleaning your IAC. Do a search first.

Intake air controller is the major idle control.
Clean it and the throttle body.
