Search is your friend.

Use Motorcraft 5W-20 at 5K intervals and you will be all set.

Yeah...motorcraft synthetic blend, 5w20 and a motorcraft oil filter...anything else is just paying more for nothing in my opinion.

MOst oils these days run closely to the same however there are differences but research some but just stick with a decent brand oil.

You can't go wrong with Motorcraft 5W-20 oil and Motorcraft FL-820S filters. Change at anywhere from 3000 - 5000 mile intervals (depending on how you use your truck) and you're golden!

What everyone is telling you, is to keep your warranty intact by following the advice in your owner's manual. Dollar for dollar, the Motorcraft oil is a great buy. This will probably get me harassed by General Motors, but I even put the Motorcraft 5-W-20 syn. blend oil in my wife's S-10, 4.3 L V6. The engine never ran so quiet and smooth.

Why would you run John Deere oil which is a straight 30w or 15-40w,in a gas motor? I know cause I have a John Deere Diesel? Anyhow, I am going to run Mobil 1
5w-20 when I hit 3,000mi & a Motorcraft Filter.

Opinionated topic, everyone has favorites but as long as it's the right weight and the filter the right number, your cool. I would change the oil every 3-4000 miles if I was you. Seems Canadians change it every 5000 km's and Americans every 5000 miles. For whatever reason 5000 is the magic number and people stick to it. My preferences have been Motorcraft, Castrol GTX or Quaker State for oil, MC or Fram for filter. Where I go, not much else is offered but I wouldn't turn Valvoline, Havoline, Kendall, Pennzoil or ??? down, filters I'm more picky! Tranny fluid I strictly use Motorcraft, hard to find Mercon V around let alone with the filter I need too.

The other good thing about motorcraft is you can buy it and the filter at wal-mart. The big jug is $10, the filter around $3, i think.
