They put 3K miles/3 months on the sticker to make money. Dino oil is good for at least 5K miles. I've been on the 5K mile Dino oil change cycle (no time limit) for 15 years with ZERO engine problems.

Every Ford dealer I've been to uses Valvoline oil. I use whatever oil is cheapest at Sam's Club, usually Havoline.

Synthetic VS Petro

I just worked on a buddies explorer- driven about the same way my 4.6 F150 is driven. he uses petro oil changed at 5000 miles- I used Mobil 1 changed at 4000 miles. His PCV had brown sticky deposits- my PCV has no deposits- both after about 40,000 miles. My 4.6 has never had any deposits in the EGR passages.
My son has a well abused chrysler with a 3.5 L 4 valve engine-car has overheated seriously at least 3 times and been started once without any oil in the pan once. At 140,000 miles it runs great, leaks a little oil but uses less than a qt. in 5000 miles and internally engine is clean. the car uses Mobil semi syn 7500.

My experience is that the Mobil products keep your engine internally clean and offer an extra level of abuse protection. Just my opinion
