I am looking to see if there is any software that will run on my laptop and connected via LPT/serial of my Code reader's cable, Would it be possible to get live stats ect. From a car/truck ect.

 

Computer-based scanning software uses either the serial or USB port.

You haven't exactly provided any details upon which to provide any relevent information. Ie, what scanner do you have, have you checked with that manufacturer, what vehicle, etc, etc.....

 

Innova Obd2 3100C, I am wondering if there is a way to use the cable that connects to the code reader, Connect it to the laptop (Old one) And use software to interface to see like specs, RPM's ect, The car doesn't have a tach

 

Consult your owner's manual for the scanner or contact the manufacturer's tech support to see if what you want to do is upported.

 

Im talking about bypassing the scanner and directly connecting the computer to the car.
