If you have a 'superchip" has it cured the rough idle?

Did you have your truck scanned to find out what is causing the rough idle?? There is definately not enough info in the post to completely answer the question (engine size vehicle year etc.) There are many things that can cause a rough idle and it helps a lot if you know what it is before throwing money at the problem, such as a superchip. As a first mod for an engine I would not recomend it.

Hi.

Aftermarket Tuning, in any form, will not magically cure vehicle problems. In fact it can actually exacerbate them.

Get it diagiosed & repaired, then consider a tuner, which is generally considered to be the best bank-for-buck mod you can make.

The truck has always drifted into a rough idle when waiting at the lights, sometimes it smoothes out again. Ford dealer tells me this is normal. Cpu has been updated. I just wondered if someone else's software might be better at idle.

Not looking for a non standard cure. many 1997 F150 have the rough idle. Ford never bothered to fixed it, I wondered if the after market guys had with their re-written programs.
