It's just an old worn out truck. Judging by the lift and aftermarket wheels, and radio, a kid probably had it. You don't want a kid's truck. But having said that, it might last you another 200,000 miles! You never know....

well, just got back from looking at that one here in Austin.... POS!!!! must be 25+ scratches/dings, huge dent/gash in the tailgate, about 4''-5'' long. the dash is worn to ****, steering wheels dead, and the windshield is crached from one side to the other.... oh, and the brakes are soft.... and the sun shade things are ****ed, along with the fender flares.... the rest(whats left) is nice though.... the ONE thing i liked was the exhaust. sounded nice....

Here's a place for you to start. If you have cash, you have bargaining rights and these numbers are negotiable lower with cash. You can change the search criteria if you like. This is for zip code 78708 which is a random zip I picked from Austin. Try to buy one that has under 100,000 miles and comes from a reputable dealer. Check for any warranties from the dealer. Some will offer a 6 months warranty on their vehicles regardless of the mileage. Get it in writing if they have it. Give it a good look. Look at the panels at night for body work. Look under the dash for dirt, as in a flood vehicle. Check the oil- is it clean and is not real heavy. Check the air box for oil on the inside=blowby. If it is a manual tranny, put it in first gear and let it idle down the road. If it hammers, there is uneven wear in the cylinders and an overhaul is close to being needed. And above all, do not fall in love with any of them, at least at the lot. A salesman can smell a person hooked on a rig. There are a lot of them out there. Choose wisely, grasshopper.

guy at the lot said he might be able to get me that F-150 for like $5500, so we'll see.... but the different wheel thing is driving me crazy.... so, will this bolt pattern work?
5 x 4.50 or 5 x 114.3

I have number of friends from texas. even if they have all the tools and parts they still manage to jimmy rig their vehicles. SO I would avoid buying any vehicle from a texan if I suspected he did any of his own work.
