fix it the ford way or the right way

you going to do the texas shade tree thing and replace the sensors your self or go to ford?

the best way to replace the sensors is to remove the wheels and then remove the inner fender wells or liners. it takes about 5 minutes to remove each fender well.

once the wells are removed you can unplug the sensor connectors ( areal bitch on the right side with the liners in place). the sensors come out with a 22 mm or 13/16 box end- no special tools

I have done both sides and had my tools put away in less than 45 minutes. Ford doen't like that better idea- not enough labor time to bill using my method.

If there's nothing wrong with them, just leave them alone. There's nothing to gain from changing them. IMO

When they go bad they tend to throw a CE light. But they do get worse after time without throwing any codes, pull them out and take a look at them, mine was just covered in crap when I pulled it. If your going to replace them just take a torch and heat them, they come out nice and easy with a box-end after that.

Probably not. You can change them, but you're probably just wasting your time.... I've NEVER heard of anyone gaining mileage from doing it, and when I changed my ORIGINALS at 170,000 ish, it made NO difference whatsoever.
