Anyone have a good experience with the ACCEL 4 tower replacement coils. they are not that expensive at Summit, about 55 bucks a pop.

Chester...

Yup, I'll just put a nitrous kit on a 150k work truck. It'll solve all my problems?

WTF are you smoking?

I have/had these on my truck.

Ordered mine from Summit too. Anyway, put them on and the truck ran GREAT. Two days later, driving along and the truck starts missing like crazy, running like crap, can barely go over 65. So I take it to my mechanic to scan the thing and its the 3 & 5 cylinders...pull those plug wires off the coil pack while the truck is running and they are dead as can be. Two day old coil pack done for.
Call Summit and let them know whats up, and they send me a replacement coil no problem, so I put it on and the truck runs pretty good up untill a few days ago when it started missing bad again. Get it scanned, same 3 & 5 cylinders missing. So I pull those wires off while its running and sure enough, they are pretty darn weak.
Get it home, put on a stock coil pack, and it runs pretty good now.

So, thats either some crappy luck, or else there is something else on my truck thats causing those cylinders to kill my coil packs.
But, why hasnt it happened to the old stock one I put back on???

Can't comment on Accel coils. I have the MSD's. No problems yet. Been over a year on them. Both do have similar specs in terms of output voltage and I think when I looked they were both within a few $ in price. I actually wanted the accel coils but they weren't in stock so got the MSD. Got them from www.mopacautosupply.com in Langley, BC but I hear there's a new place on the Langley bypass (somewhere behind the Princess Auto store) that sells stuff even cheaper called Performance Parts or Performance Auto Parts. Haven't been in there yet but heard good things.

I had such bad misfires I stopped on the way home in the IKEA store (totally covered from the rain) and changed them in about 20mins. LOL Changed the wires the next day as well as NGK iridiums. The NGK's have been great and I think they were pretty much the cheapest iridiums available.

Hey, MSD now has coil-on-plug replacements for 99+ trucks:

Here's the MSD coil packs:
