Fuel issue...

Ok.. So I have a 1998 F150.. 4.6 Liter motor.

The truck broke down on me... Motor turned over freely - Engine was not getting fuel. first thing I did was check the filter and replaced it.. Still no luck. Well 180,000 miles.. Original everything except for starter and alt.. So I did a little checking around.. Even put a few drops of fuel down the intake and the truck started and ran until that fuel burned out.. So I swapped out the fuel pump.

Now the truck starts but very very ruff. I cant get it up over 600 or 700 RPM or it dies.

Suggestions or ideas? I dont have a tool to measure fuel pressure on the port on the fuel rail. I think tomorrow I'm going to go pinch off the return line and see if that builds up a little back pressure and gets it firing.. Dont know what that might accomplish but thought it was worth a try.

you really need a fuel pressure check at the rail.i can assume your plugs are not the originals?? might want to check out your IAC valve could be sticking. check all your vacumn lines also.
