Got a 97 F-150 with the 4.6. Its a small diameter tube that runs from a port on top of my header, up to my EGR valve. Its a metal tube, but somewhere along the lines, an owner broke it/tried to make it longer, and put it back together with muffler jb weld type ****. I just want to take it off to have it welded, cause its leaking badly.

That could be a problem.
I would begin with a new one then extend as needed and be sure it is fully leak free.
Reason is the PCM tests this line and DPFE plumbing just after startup and cold driveaway. If the pipeing has a leak you could see a 402 or a 401 code from it.
Lots of Mustang owners put headers on and get into these problems.
The header mfger should have accounted for this because it is a legal emissions issue for most owners come inspection time..
