Please Help!!!!!!!

i have a 2001 f-150 5.4, ill just tell u exactly what happened. i went to the store shut the truck off went in side and when i came back out it wouldn't start. the starters going its just acting like its not getting any fuel. i had a lil in a gas can in the back so i put a tiny bit in the intake and it turned over for ac couple seconds then quit so i checked the fuel pump shut off then changed the fuel filter the fuel pump thinking thats what it was. i was wrong i then tried to see if putting another tiny bit of gas in the intake and even thats not working now. any suggestions would b greatly appreciated.

need a fuel pressure gauge hooked to the rail. there a tire gauge looking thing on the fuel rail. you said you put a new fuel pump in?? you put the fuel filter on pointing the correct way right?? some filters have a in and out. made that mistake before.

Maybe the cam sensor? If it goes bad, the computer can't sense the position of the cam and therefore won't start. (crank sensor is the same way, so it could be either)

Here's what happen on mine.

I had the same problem put in a new fuel pump and filter and worked great for about 1 week, then on day after sitting for a couple of days I went back out to fire it up and no fire. checked for fule pressure athe schrader valve and nothing. So I had to re-drop the fuel tank and to my surprise the fuel pump filter had fallen off and eventuallyt the pump froze up. I bought my fuel fump at Napa auto parts and when I went to return it the guy at the desk said that model was replaced due to those fuel pump filters falling off. Where did you get your new fuel pump?

Press on the gas a little when you crank it next time. See if it fires off. Betcha it will.

My crank sensor went out once and would cause my truck to run errattic then shut off. i could only get it going again by unscrewing a fuel valve next to the elelctrical box above the oil fill. i took it off turned the engine until i saw gas put the cap back on and drove straight to the dealer and it took them a few days to figure it out because the computer wouldn't register it. hope this helps
