Can anyone tell me what to do to eliminate this code from appearing?

Replace your fuel cap ?I think that's a fuel cap code..- Its an evap code of some kind.

I'll look it up later , if know one else chimes in to tell yuh..

try the search bar to the right - get the right search bar and you'll find it..

1451 = Evap. Emission Control Sys. Vent Control Valve Circuit Malf.

Got it ( :

Where's the circuit? Well, this is a 98 setup, should be the same. There's 3 vent valves lol.

Ok, I'm trying to remember, I had a similar prob long ago - I was under warranty at the time, they fixed the light but I couldn't understand the write-up on the work order. I didn't know what was replaced. Well, I found out later, #9 on the diagram - the hose thats in front , center of the bed over the axle is totally unplugged - looks like they unplugged it from the canister to fix the prob when I had it. Unless it's suppose to be? - It didn't look like that hose just laid on the axle purposely.

Best I can do - hope it helps.

P1451 DTC indicates there is an ELECTRICAL fault with the CV solenoid. That's the one at the canister under the bed.

It has nothing to do with the fuel cap.

That it is an electrical malfunction of some kind makes the most sense to me.

I am just sure why it would only occur after a bit of idle time.

I will check the connection there thanks.
