My father just bought a 2007 F150 Supercrew XLT 4x4 with the chrome package. Its a sweet truck but he was under the impression that the 4.6 in it was a 3-valve. Its obviously not but why does ford use that engine in the Exploder and not the F150? His miles are all highway and he doesnt tow anything so the power isnt that important but it would still be nice to have.

It's just the 2v. But why get the 4.6? No offense, but it's gotta be a serious dog. My 5.4 SC 4x4 feels sluggish. I would almost be glad not to have the 3v. The engine is more complicated and most of us have the mini diesel sound from the phasers.
