P1451?? Little help Please
P1451?? Little help Please
I have an 01 s-crew, it is bagged on 22's any way I back halved it and had no room for the Evap canister. I left it off and the truck ran like a champ(I have replaced COP's before) I took it to Auto Zone and I got that code, I know the lack of a canister will throw a code, I am wondering if it would run like pooh 2 weeks later because of the evap canister missin or If I need to dig deeper and find another prob?any help would be great
I have replaced bad coils before that were not showin on the Service Engine
I have no Inspections in my area
The truck has no acceleration, then it seems to surge under steady driving, or whenever it wants I cannot pinpoint the reason

P1451 Evap. Emission Control Sys. Vent Control Valve Circuit Malf.
i would put the evap back on, clear the code and see how the truck responds.
maybe it took that long for the PCM to cycle through enough times to realize there was a problem.

The fuel tank and canister purge system is about all emissions related and should not cause that kind if drivabolity problem you discribe unless you now have a condition that allows the fuel tank to have a large vacuum pulled in it, working against the fuel pump..
Without any other DTC codes it is just a guess.
Has there been any possibilty of fuel related issues such as a fuel filter, anything with the fuel pump or sock, pinched off fuel lines etc.
You will have to investigate these areas to get a lead on the problems.
Test fuel pressure performance.
I keep feeling it's fuel related.
Anything else involving engine control is well covered by coded failures
