Unhappy 04 Heritage won't start

My truck has only done this twice now and it happened about a week apart from each other. It will be sitting for a few hours and when I go to start it it won't. It turns over and attempts to start but acts like it is not getting fuel. After a few tries it will finaly start but then hesitate and stumble for about 1 minute. After that it runs fine. Also since the first time it did this a new light came on in my dash. It is the fuel filler cap light. I have never seen this light before and the cap is on and tight. It is an 04 f-150 heritage with 80,000 miles and no other problems ever except a recently changed alternator wich had a bad bearing. Any and all help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Get a fuel pressure guage and see if you have pressure when it gives you trouble. Also check for spark.

Thank you for the replies...I will check the fuel filter first, then if it does it again I will check the pressure and spark. Are the fuel filters hard to change on these trucks? Im used to older vehicles and have never even looked under my truck. Thank you for your help, Jason
