weird smell????

i have this weird smell coming from the rear drivers side around the tire. i first thought it was the brakes. i put new brakes on the smell is still there. i have 3 week old exhaust. It smells like a burnt smell, like it could be the brakes but i dont think it is. any ideas?

Have your emergency brakes checked. Some have a problem with rubbing and overheating. This also caused a vibration. In my case, just backing off the adjustment a little bit fixed the problem. They adjust just like any other drum brake. Mine were tight from the start and for whatever reason, would at times rub and cause the vibration, heat, and smell.

but if this was the case wouldnt it do the same thing on the passenger side? bc the smell only comes from the driverside.

Its easier and cheaper to get new calipers then to have it rebuilt.

Look at my response in one of the other 4 or 5 threads you started on this issue.

No, mine was happening on the passenger side only. The adjustment for the E-brakes on an 04 up is not in the cable. It is just like any other drum brake with a start wheel to adjust. Just a smaller drum brake.
