Do I have the right spark plugs?

2000 Expedition 5.4L
I went to the parts store and picked up 8 Motocraft spark plugs. On the box it has the following:
SP-479
AGSF22WM
My owners manual shows that it should be AWSF-22E.

Did the parts store give me the right spark plugs?

Plug numbers were superceded since the truck was manufactured and the manual was printed.

Check current recommended replacements at www.motorcraft.com for most up-to-date specifications for Motorcraft parts.

They don't make the 22E's anymore. They were superseded to the number you have. I just did my plugs last week and put the same ones in. It runs fine.

Those are right hand plugs. You only need four of those for the driver's side. You still need the passenger's side plugs which are reverse threaded.

I ran into this about 6 mo. ago. The major difference is the center resistance is higher on the new plugs.
The only way you might get original spec plugs is if you find a dealer with some still on their shelf.
I found one dealer with 19 plugs but did not try to get any yet.
There's more to the story but will let it stop at that.
