bad gas or cop??

two days a go i put $15 of gas in my truck from thorntons then i went home about 2 or 3 miles. after i put gas in it it did not feel right it had a small shake. the next day my wife took it to work about 4 miles she said it was shaking and on her way home the check engine light came on it runs a little better with the light on. last night i took it to my dads house he pluged up hes computer to it and got a miss on cylinder #6. I thought a cylinder miss would make the check engine light blink ? We cleared the code today my wife took the truck to work i went up to get the truck i started it let it idle for about 2 min (talking to my wife) check engine light came on. i will go to my dads tomorrow and see what code it is. what do you all think bad gas or cop

Possible bad injector

This sounds exactly like what my 05 screw started doing. I hooked it up the my max tuner and the DTC code told me I had a misfire in the #5 bank. The engine light was also on. I took it to the dealer and it ended up that the #5 injector was bad and had stuck open flushing the cylinder with gas. I have read on another post this can cause serious damage if not attended to. Have yours checked.

how much gas your have in it now? i would fill her up the rest of the way, put a cleaner like seafoam or techron and see if that helps, also if u can find which cyl is midfiring, swap cops with another that isnt and see if the miss transfers. my guess is maybe bad gas

If it was the gas, why are the other seven cylinders not complaining.....

No, it's not the gas.

Good job. Make sure you have plenty of die-electric grease to prevent moisture from getting into the rubber boot.

2 month old COP's and one already went bad? Thats stinks.

When I first purchased my truck, it was spitting and sputtering when I test drove it. The service manager told me it had just been detailed and it was probably just some water on the plug wires???

What a moron. He obviously did not know anything about the COP. So I made them put it in writing that if this problem did not get better that they had to repair it.

Took the truck back the next day. It had 2 bad COP's and they footed the bill.

Makes you wonder about some of these people that work at dealerships. He did not even know the product line he was selling. And yes, my truck was used when I bought it. Just my two cents.
