Question 5.4 2 core radiator??

Does anyone know if the 97-03 150 with 5.4 ever came with a 2 core radiator? I have larger tires and tow quite a bit and would like to ditch my single core for an OEM 2 core if they are available.

I have the 2 core rad in my 99' F250LD (7700lbs f-150). I have tow package, 4R100 and 3.73LS rear end. My rad is over 2'' thick.
In I beleive 2000' there will many posts by owners who beleive they were cheated out of a 2 row rad.
You may try searching back that far. I doubt Ford carries that 2 row now, they were having trouble getting it then. You may have better luck having a rad shop build one for you.

In 2000' & 01' they had 1.02", 1.42", 2.02" thick rad. on 7700lbs F-150's. Some owners were so po'ed that they didn't get big rad that Ford thru Cust Sat Program 01B83 gave them a bigger rad or a voucher for $100. Its in the old posts........

False. They were on many of the 97-99s, and were replaced on a number of the '00-02s due to a supposed mis-print in the spec books. The specs listed a super-cooling package as a part of the trailer tow package, plow prep package, HD cooling package or camper prep package. However, numerous vehicles showed up with the same radiator as the standard package, begging the question. I took the new radiator. I just wanted what I paid for.

Looks like I got lucky - dual core + trans and oil cooler in front of that - you should see all this plumbing lol - E4OD feeds into the duel core - out to another auxzillary before it heads back home. That's the way my 98 4x4 SC XLT came.

I remember the recall??? they had on these rads, my buddy had his replaced, me, nope. About 2 years later, it puked on a fridgid day 30 mins. from home, not cool pardon the pun. When I replaced it, out of pocket no warranty anymore, I noticed the replacement was thicker by far. That lasted over 12 months, then it puked, parts warranty hooked up. I could swear that both replacements were thicker, wierd huh? Both did the job just fine, but I'd make sure on getting the thicker for towing etc.
