Check Engine Light Blinks 4 Times
I have a 95 F150, 302, 4x4, extended cab. When I let it sit for a while (~12+ hours) and start it cold, it will start, then idle very high (2000 RPM range) and the Check Engine Light (CEL) will blink 4 times, then, the gas will cut, the RPMS drop and just before the engine would choke it picks up and then idles normal.
I would say this last about 20 seconds. Again, once this is over the engine is fine and idles normal. I assumed the computer was trying to read or test fuel air ratios and locate a stable idle position, but this happens all of the time and is annoying. I've never had another fuel injection vehicle that does this.
