1998 4.6L Engine Problem
1998 4.6L Engine Problem
Takes forever to start the motor. Turn the key and it cranks for a good 3 seconds before firing up. Checked the battery and it's fine so don't know what the problem is. Anyway, while it was sitting I decided to change the oil. Went to fire it up after the oil change and now we've got a check engine light on. Sometimes it's steady other times it blinks on and off. Idle is really rough and there's a pretty strong sulfur smell coming from the exhaust.
Drove it down the street to get an diagnostic done and the repairman said that I've got a misfire in cylinder #1 and the spark plug wire to #1 is fried.
Could this be THE problem or is the more to it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Sounds like your IAC - its behind your throttle body - needs to be cleaned
heres what you need to clean -

I can't say for sure, but there's a pretty strong correlation between a misfire, a fried spark plug wire, rough idle, and a check engine light.
I'd change the plug and the wire. If the plugs and wires are fairly old, I would change all the plugs and wires because you're due anyways. Since you have a 95, it won't be as much of a chore as these newer models.
